Daddy Can Wiggle Too!

I am still catching up from two weeks ago! Forgiveness is good. I have had so many distractions this last little while. These pictures are from when Mark visited. We had a hot dog roast with my parents and the favorite thing for the girls is the wiggle racers. Mark decided to race along with the girls.

Campfire Dinner
Hot Dogs anyone? Abbi, Annabelle, Brooks and I decided to have a hot dog roast with Grandma and Grandpa Beahm. They have a new fire pit out by the shop, and we had to break it in.
I guess the hot dogs didn't give Annabelle quite the additives she was looking for. She decided to do some adding of her own.
Grandma isn't a big fan of hot dogs, but if they are cooked over the fire she can't resist.
I pulled the van over so the food wouldn't be "bugged", but my van got "bugged". There was a ton of flies and other bugs in the van and they didn't get out until the next day!
Brooks enjoyed his dog just like the rest of us. No he really didn't partake.
It was a day of firsts for Brooks... He had his first try of root beer, he devoured the squash and zucchini we gave him, and he loved the hot dog buns.
I think Annabelle is totally entranced by the fire.

Cooked or not, they are a favorite treat for Abbi.
At Grandma's house any meal is not complete without a sweet. Cookies and marshmallows were the sweets of choice for the night.
Abbi and Annabelle were discovering their surroundings after their tummy's were full.

Little Helpers

Our support group...Annabelle, Tristan, Abbigail, Braxton, Christian, & Brooks was in his bouncy chair. We let the kids watch lots of movies and used all the bribes we could to keep them occupied.

The kids were really quiet, so we decided to check on them to see what mischief they were up to, and found them in the toy box.

Tristan, Christian, & Annabelle loved to hide in the toy box and close the lid.
Feeding all the kids was quite a chore when the kitchen is covered in canning goods and jars.
Sometimes I would love to be able to feed the kids in a trough. Fill it up and say have at it...
My friend Ashlie Martin and her friend Briant came to say HI. She called me to see what we were up to and asked if I would let her come over to help can and put the kids to bed. She is so sweet! She loves to play with my kids and is the cutest thing with them too.

Excuses!?!?
There is one word to describe the excuse for not posting in two weeks when I have a grand array of pictures and lots of stories to tell. Peaches, Applesauce, Tomatoes, Apricots, Jam... CANNING. Yes, canning is all I have to say about my lack of time spent on the computer. It was replaced with hours of back aching, feet throbbing work in front of the kitchen sink and some intense moments searching for a pressure gauge to peak so that I could resume my indoor chores. There are some major conveniences for canning, and I really shouldn't complain. I do enjoy the concept of canning... the week after everything lands in the jars. I take pride in my storage room and the feeling that we have successfully filled every remaining jar...except those set aside for the scrumdidliuptious grape juice.

Grandma's Harvest Goodness
Ahhh...What's up doc?
There's nothing quite like picking over the garden to explore the options for dinner.
Carrots...Tomatoes...New Potatoes...Squash...Zuchinni...Beans... Who needs protein?
We call this Veggie Delight!
Brooks loved gnawing his fresh carrot, although he was more intrigued with the greenery than the orange tasty part.
