Brooks Blessing

Brooks was blessed March 30th. We had a lot of family come and really enjoyed everybody and appreciate the support they gave us. I have never been too big on celebrating baby blessings because its more for the parents than the baby, but it was really neat to have everybody at our home showing their support.

I was fortunate to be able to bless Brooks. I want to thank my brother Paul for calling me and, although it wasn't his intention, briefing me on how to properly conduct a child's blessing. Both Enzo and Brooks have benefited from Paul's counsel. A baby's blessing is among the most unique in the church. It is a prayer, by the authority of the Melchezedek Priesthood, where we petition the Lord to bless our children. Paul was funny and said he's never blessed his children properly [we laughed] but we both realize that, although commonly done differently (saying, "we bless you... etc..." as opposed to petitioning the Lord), the Lord still honors those blessings.

We are very fortunate to have great family on both sides (Romer/Beahm). Thanks for your support and love!

I too am a recipient of Paul's Priesthood Power. Or I should say that Jake is... I am definately glad that I have him here. I'm sure Brooks' and Enzo's blessings were wonderful.

We wish we could have been there for the blessing and gathered together afterward as a family .

Every so often there are opporunities for men in the church to place spiritual markers in time. Those markers help us and others know that we are on the right track.

Congratulations on blessing your baby boy. I'm confident your petitions have been heard and recorded and that in the future your family and many other people will be blessed because of this.

You're a great brother.
